As per Ontario Health - Cancer Care Ontario's Pandemic Planning Clinical Guidance document, it is recommended that all routine screening for all Cancer Care Ontario organized screening programs be deferred throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. This means your patients will not be getting: • Screening mammography through the Ontario Breast Screening Program • Screening mammography, MRI, and ultrasound through the High Risk Ontario Breast Screening Program You do not need to do: • Screening Pap tests • Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) with ColonCancerCheck via Lifelabs Please note that referral pathways for diagnosis will still be available for patients that have been screened positive with highly suspicious findings. For example: • Abnormal screening mammograms will be followed with additional imaging or biopsy • High-grade cervical dysplasia will be seen in colposcopy • Anormal FIT results will referred on to colonoscopy In addition, care for symptomatic patients will also be prioritized at this time. |
